This filter binds the unpleasant odors that arise when cooking. Depending on the length of time the stove is used and the frequency of cleaning the grease filter, the activated carbon filter becomes saturated after a more or less long period of use. In any case, the filter insert must be replaced at least every 3 - 4 months. It CANNOT be cleaned or reactivated.
