nobilia body - the frame of the kitchen

The kitchen body is the basic structure of every kitchen cabinet, as well as the casing of the installed electrical appliances. The body consists of side walls, back walls, shelf and construction shelf. Different dimensions create wall, base and tall cabinets. The body dimensions are given without front and feet. In a broader sense, the body material also includes the base feet and the base panel.

Modern kitchen manufacturers, such as nobilia, rely on individually adaptable furniture so that the elements can be freely combined with one another, for example in terms of body height, body color or choice of material. The nobilia body is directly coated on both sides with melamine resin and is therefore extremely durable and easy to care for. The body material is processed with a very good material thickness. This guarantees you the 100% stability of your kitchen. The side walls have a
Material thickness of 16 mm. With highboards, tall and base cabinets, the top and base shelves have a thickness of 19mm. Top and bottom floors are 16mm thick. The construction floors and trusses are extremely stable with their 19mm thickness.

The cabinets also consist of protruding rear walls made of 2.8mm thick HDF board. The rear walls are treated with protective paint on both sides and are also screwed to the body in 6mm deep grooved sides. The aim of the extended rear walls is to ensure good air circulation between the wall and the piece of furniture. This way the cupboards will certainly not get damp.

The body is held together by 8 x 30mm hardwood dowels. The floors, sides and construction floors are glued with these dowels.

The body color is white on the inside and a specific decor can be selected for the body material on the outside. In the case of glass wall cabinets or shelves, the selected carcass decor is finished both on the outside and on the inside.

Loadable Sides

The body edges have a high resilience, because the edges are offered with a soft rounding and are provided with a PP edge protection. PP stands for Poly-Propylene. Due to this processing, the edges are particularly hard-wearing and have a high impact resistance compared to normal carcass edges. In addition, the rear edge is provided with additional moisture protection.

Shelves made of glass or wood

The nobilia shelves can be made of wood or glass, depending on the model. The wooden shelves are coated on both sides with melamine resin, similar to the body material. The edges are sealed all around and the front edges are PP edges that are particularly resilient. The shelf supports are made of all-metal including a locking pin. The locking pin prevents the shelves from slipping. The nobilia carriers used therefore fulfill the
DIN standard, which demonstrate a particularly high resilience. The maximum load for wooden and glass shelves is 50 kg/m², so you can store almost anything in your cupboard. For example, 50 kg/m² corresponds to 80 dinner plates. The glass wall cabinets are equipped with a 5mm glass shelf as standard. This ensures a consistently transparent look. Nobilia wall cabinets and folding lift doors have 6mm thick glass shelves.

Everything about the pedestal

The plinth panels are made of 13mm thick MDF material, are directly coated and are supplied in specific lengths. The panels, which are sent with the floor sealing profile, must be cut to size on site.
The outside corners with 90° and 135° as well as the inside corners with 135° are formed by appropriate corner profiles. The side plinth returns are also provided with a floor sealing profile and are 28mm higher than the plinth panel
delivered. An on-site adjustment is also necessary here. The standard bases are 70mm, 100mm, 150mm and 200mm high. Nobilia also offers a socket adapter
so that base heights in intermediate dimensions are also possible in a 10mm grid.

The sealing profile towards the floor has several functions. The integrated sealing profile is not just one
elegant finish to the floor, but also prevents the penetration of dirt and moisture. The nobilia profile also ensures that unevenness in the floor up to 2mm high is compensated for.

The deep body offers plenty of storage space

A nobilia cupboard with special features, such as stove conversion cupboards, corner carousel cupboards, sink cupboards or 1200mm wide base cupboards, has metal crossbars integrated into the body. The metal trusses guarantee excellent stability.

The nobilia carcass depth for base and tall cabinets is
standard 561mm. This means a usable depth of 522mm for kitchen purchases. If your room is narrow, the body depth can be reduced to 461mm at no extra charge.
